Sausage & Pepperoni Stromboli




Material

  • 1 ball or pizza dough roll (homemade good but I use store-bought items)
  • 1 pound of Italian sausage
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package of sliced ​​pepperoni
  • 2 cups of pizza sauce
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg

Instructions


  • Cook Italian sausages in a medium skillet until browned. Drain on tissue paper and break into pieces.
  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  • Place baking paper on a baking sheet and lightly flour. Roll the dough to form a large rectangle.
  • Apply a thin layer of pizza sauce to the mixture. Cover the crushed sausage then mozzarella cheese.
  • Place the pepperoni slices over the cheese then sprinkle with 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
  • Gently roll on the side of the short dough to form a seal around the contents.
  • Start from the side of the long dough, carefully insert one third of Stromboli. By using parchment, roll the mixture again until it reaches the opposite end. Pinch together and place the stitch side down.
  • Mix eggs with 1 tablespoon of water. Apply the egg mixture on the Stromboli and sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 Parmesan cheese.
  • Place it in the oven and IMMEDIATELY TURN OVEN DOWN to 350 degrees.
  • Bake for approximately 18 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes.
  • Substitution test center. If the mixture is not fully cooked, cut the Stromboli in half and bake for 5-8 minutes.
  • Serve with warm pizza sauce
