BISKUIT CHEDDAR GARLIC





INGREDIENTS

Bicsuits:


  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of butter, cut into cubes and very cold
  • 1 cup of sharp, grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of milk, very cold

Additional:


  • 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of oregano dry

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 425 F and coat the baking sheet with baking paper.
  • In a large bowl, stir the flour, garlic powder, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Cut cold butter using a cookie cutter or fork until the butter is about the size of a small pea. Stir in cheddar cheese.
  • Slowly pour the milk and stir until mixed. Once the dough has formed into a soft dough, use your hands to fold the dried pieces that have not been added. Be careful not to overmix. Note that the mixture will be slightly sticky.
  • Turn the mixture onto the flour surface and pat it into a 3/4 inch thick disc. Biscuit cutting flour and cut the mixture. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet that has been prepared.
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and dry oregano. Brush the top of the biscuit with half the butter mixture.
  • Bake the biscuits for 13 to 16 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • Brush the top of the biscuit with the remaining butter mixture. Let cool and serve.

NOTE
You can replace milk in half or butter milk.
