Whopper Pie

Enchanting chocolate, male goodness isn't just exclusive to milkshakes and sweets anymore.


INGREDIENTS



  • 16 ounces of Whoppers, plus extras for decoration
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 3/4 cup extra fine sugar (caster)
  • 3 tablespoons of malt powder
  • 7 ounces of dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/4 cup thick cream
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract



INSTRUCTIONS



  • Add Whoppers to the food processor and flash into crumbs.
  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add the Whoppers crumbs and stir. Press the mixture into a greasy 10-inch pie pan, remove the bottom if desired, and push down with a spatula or the back of the spoon until the bottom and sides are completely closed.
  • Leave in the refrigerator to set while you fill. In a medium skillet, add egg yolks, milk, sugar and malt powder and beat gently until it thickens. Remove from the heat, and add the chocolate, stir until it becomes a smooth and soft consistency.
  • Remove the pie crust from the pie pan and place it on a plate or board. Pour the chocolate into the pie crust and store it in the refrigerator until it is ready to be served, at least one hour but better overnight.
  • Before serving, whip the thick cream and vanilla together until stiff. Spoon whipped cream over chocolate filling, evenly covering the surface. Top with a few whole Whoppers and a few crumbs.
