INGREDIENTS

• 1 box of chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients needed for the box
• 1 teaspoon. peppermint extract
• 2 1/2 c. Marshmallow creme
• 1 teaspoon. water
• 2/3 c. crushed candy canes, divided
• 2 c. Shake topping
• Chocolate fudge sauce, for garnish

DIRECTION

• Preheat the oven to 350º and lubricate the pan 9 "-x-13". Prepare the chocolate cake mixture according to the package instructions with the addition of mint extract and bake until the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
• Poke cake all with a peppermint stick or the bottom of a wooden spoon. In a small bowl, place the microwave marshmallow creme and water for 1 minute, then stir until smooth. Stir 1/3 cup of crushed candy, then pour it all over the cake, making sure to fill the hole.
• Frozen the cake with a whipped topping and garnish with the remaining candy canes and fudge sauce. Serve.
